I used 2 lenses. most were taken with a canon 75-300mm 1:4-5.8 and some were with the stock 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6.

Seem's these are a good match for your Rebel, I have a Canon Zoom EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM on my Canon EOS 30D right now, will be looking at add a Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 soon. Once I get my adapter I have a host of Minolta and Rokkor-X lenses that I can use.

Mine was purchased 2nd hand... EOS 30D, lens and 3 rechargeable battery packs/charger shipped for $200, and I couldn't be happier
