Just getting back into 35mm photography and bought a t7. I've noticed when taking pics how loud the shutter is but I can't find a quiet mode on the camera or how to silence the noise... any help is appreciated

I have a T7 and I also looked for the ability to turn it off. From what I found searching, we do not have the option to turn it off or reduce the noise it makes. I hope I am wrong.

I don't shoot Canon anymore so can't help any more than the link posted. Not sure why they reference your camera if it doesn't perform the function. It is from the internet after all.

Best you can do is turn it on "live" mode and that might help a little bit as it will take out one component of the process that is making noise. Only way to get truly silent photo taking is to move to a mirrorless option where you don't have the mechanical shutter making that slapping noise. Something like an EOS R, or RP, or one of the series of R5/R6/R7 etc.
