    Early Morning in Aggieland

Stayed up all night studying for an exam that I have on Monday, need to step away for a minute so I grabbed my camera and headed out for an hour or so. I'm amazed at how often I forget how pixel-rich my environment is.

Now I just need a good tripod.

Went to the memorial Wednesday/Thursday @ midnight. I couldn't believe the number of people out at that hour there.
One of the BIG motor coaches had the loudest generator I have ever heard. A brother to one of the fallen girls went over to it, banged on the door and after no answer, he pulled the plug wire. I think everyone was grateful he pulled the plug on it!
Hey, do you know why a handful of coins would be placed on the center marker?

That's weird man, I was out there around the same time the other night, maybe a little later than that. I too was surprised by the number of people there. I didn't get some of the shots I wanted so I went back this morning and learned how bad I need to invest in a tripod.

I don't know why the change was out there but I saw that too. Maybe someone on here will know.

I picked up a little $25 WallyWorld tripod a few years back and it's served me well. In higher winds it does move around a bit but for the $ it can't be beat.

        Awesome pics BTW!

I'm using an old Z762 tripod that is built like a tank, and tried the Targus 58" tripod from Walmart here the other day. It is light, and when you depress your shutter button, the plate moves, and the lower legs are garbage as they just act like toothpicks. Don't skimp on tripods. My Z762 is holding by needs a new head with better fluid rotation and handle.

You will get what you pay for, and camera shake causes blurs... its your dime.

BTW ~ those photo's are awesome!!!

Great shots, Cameron. Thanks for sharing.

When it comes to tripods, you can get any two of the following, but not all three:

            Light
            Cheap
            Sturdy.

Thanks Casey, that means a lot coming from you!

...and that is some great advice right there. Made me put some thought into it. I'm pretty sure I want to get one with the pistol grip head for more fluid motion when videoing at concerts and what not. I have been cutting back a lot because I need to pay for my Aggie Ring next February...once I achieve that milestone I will look into getting a tripod. I'd rather wait than get something that doesn't preform.

So awesome, I wish I had more time to walk around campus now that the weather is cooler but I'm in the same boat with exams.

Yea man, I'm slammed. I was in a state of delirious euphoria when I decided to head out there the other morning. It was a last second deal...I needed a break and I got it. I am pretty sure I knocked that Logic exam out of the park though so it was worth it.
