    Black Friday Camera?

In the market for a new camera. I have a Canon 35mm and want to upgrade to a digital SLR. I figured I'd stay with Canon since I already have 2 lenses for a Canon. Would anyone recommend waiting to pull the trigger on buying one on Black Friday or going with a New York based store, Canon refurbished website, or alternate place?

I've never bought anything on Black Friday so not sure if its worth it. I'm looking at the Rebel T2i but question if I should also look at a used EOS D series. I've heard once you get past the 10 MP area, all images are pretty equal. I guess I need help with the sensor issue and don't know if the Rebel series matches the D series stuff (30D, 40D, 50D...). I don't think I'm good enough for the professional features but I don't want to regret anything either. Price range under $1,000. Any thoughts? I appreciate it.

Tired of mainly having phone pictures of my newborn.

imo you will be just fine with the T2i for what you want it for. I went through the same thing 2 Thanksgivings ago and instead of going and buying at a store I just waited until I found a great deal online Thanksgiving week or Cyber Monday and ordered it online and got it cheaper than I found it in any store ad for Black Friday. I actually ended up getting my Canon DLSR from Dell.com and got a great deal on it.

I just kept an eye on some of the deal sites until I found what I wanted.

Canon has a loyalty program, where you can send in your old canon camera and get large discounts on a refurbished canon. 866-443-8002 option 2 will get you the necessary details.

The T2i and updated T3i have the same sensor as the 7D and 60D - lots better than older versions, especially in high ISO performance (less noise than previous sensors). Past the sensor, the 60D isn't the camera that the 50D was, from all the reviews I've read. It's really a choice between the T2i or T3i and the 7D. 7D has metal body, more weather-sealed, and faster frames/second shooting. Rebels have pretty much all the other features (including full HD video) for several hundred to $1,000 less, leaving more $ to buy more lenses. I'm very happy with my T2i, but I'd still like to have a 7D to go along with it. It would be great to have 2 bodies.

Looks like most black friday deals are going to be T3 combos. I habe been looking lately, and all i am seeing is The T3 which is not what you are looking for. I would go with the T2i or T3i.

T3 only shoots 720 hd and is only 12mp. It is more of an entry level camera.

I just ordered the T3i from a NY based store and was very impressed with the price and the service. I shopped it pretty hard. They offered no tax and free shipping and have a setup where you get discounts on lenses if you purchase them at the same time.

Was it Cameta.com? Heard good things about them, and the cheapest I could find anywhere!
