Alright then….I would like to thank you guys for taking the time out to compose a photo, and post it in the contest.


Hawkpuppy-I really like the look of this shot. I like the light, and the huge wall tents under the one –sided barn. The guys are gathered around the fire, on what I would assume is the South side of a cedar post wind break; but from the looks of the smoke the wind is not a factor that night. I also like what looks to be a last quarter moon peeking through a mostly cloudy sky. Even in the dark, this looks like West Texas.


Drenalin Junkie-The fire is the center of all that is hunting. It brings us together, and warms our bodies, and our souls. For me the fire reminds me of the many great hunts I have had, and the many great hunters I have had the honor of sharing a fire with, some of them having long since gone; but once that fire is lit, they seem to come back, if only for a moment.


Legdog-I feel like I am right there, sitting at that fire with a drink listening to the guys talk trash as they play a serious game of washers. I enjoy listening to the light hearted banter as I warm my hands by the fire, and oil my old joints with another sip of bourbon, as I patiently wait my turn. My partner returns from the bar with a fresh drink, ready to play….That’s my cue.
