SPOT ON!! Thanks for sharing. I share the same feeings as you on September. The first time to get out in the field.

Our Septebers are usually busy. We dove, mule deer, and Elk hunt during Septeber. It is a great way to kick off hunting season.

Just yesterday I chose to sit a water hole I knew deer would come to. I had other spots where bigger deer were coming in but not consistently. I took my 8 year old out and four does and a yealing buck (six point) came in and drank for 15 minutes at 18 yards.

Hunter told me "did you see me heart pounding" and told me it was one of the coolest things we have done. I knew then I made the right choice.

This was prime example where the hunt (or kill) had nothing to do with the success of the trip out to "deer country."
