    Newbie Question

I am using a Nikon D70 taking pictures where the lighting is mostly red.
What filter would be the best to counteract the red.
I don't mind if the pictures look black and white, but would prefer that they look like they were taken in more or less natural lighting.
Any ideas or suggestions would help.

Not sure if I can help. Is this at a club or a concert setting or what?

Exactly. It is taking pics of the band in a club setting.

Change your white balance, I don't reccommend a filter because it would take out more light and really wouldn't help.
But it also sounds like you might need to introduce some better external lighting, maybe a flash with a diffuser bounced off the ceiling or walls?
But I can't really give a good example without knowing your subject
