grey heron

down by our pond this morning - not the BEST photo of a grey heron, but the best and only photo I've taken of one. What an amazing bird to see fly over head and then land in a tree top - was completely taken off guard, wish I had gotten more shots, but it flew off as quickly as it swooped in.

I should of titled it 'heron'........I think you're correct, it's a Great Blue Heron.

There is even a strange color phase that lives in the Florida Keys that is snow white--but not an albino.
