New Pict of Grumpy

Just got a 50mm 1.8 and this is my first pict to post. Critiq away...

That is a fun pic and I remember taking photos of my yellow lab when she was a pupply laying on her bed.
I don't have any critiques really other than making sure you get on their level with your camera. In this photo, you are definitely a lot lower than most pet pics you see but if I were to be nit picky, I would say get even lower on her/his level.
With that 1.8 lens, you will get a very shallow depth of field so when focusing on the pup's eye, you will need to be very aware of how much the nose is in focus depending on how close you are to the pup.
Your pup will be a fun subject for you to photograph!
