New Camera

My awesome wife got me a Canon Rebel T1i for our anniversary. Also got a
55-250mm lens. Anyone got any tips for this camera and lens? Other than a digital point and shoot, I have always used my Nikon 35mm film camera.

Congrats on the new toy! If you are comfortable with your 35mm SLR in manual and semi-manual modes, then you're pretty much good to go. Just take a LOT of pictures and experiment with what happens when you change settings. The "film" is free with digital, and so is the processing. Take a lot of pics.

Get a BIG and fast memory card. I got a t2i and just played with it for a little bit. Just another impulse buy lol

But it was easier for the boss lady to give the ok on a camera then a bow.. Figured the newborn coming had something to do with it lol

We have the same one.

No advice other than read the advanced tips portion of the owners manual.

And also please Pm me if you can find out how to turn the "click" off when you take a picture.

Thanks for the info. Also, gonna try and sell my Nikon n65 35mm set up. Anyone know a good forum to try and sell it, and what they are going for in great condition?
