    D3000 in the RAW

I recently started looking into getting a DSLR camera I am really thinking that the D3000 fits the bill (intended use, skill & pocketbook). Keep in mind that I am pretty much at the lowest end of novicehood and I am not certain that my issue is really an issue. My big hang up is I can not find anything stating the D3000 will shoot in RAW format. For that matter I can't find that info stated on anything I have found for the more expensive units. Is RAW an option like sunroof or no sunroof or is it pretty much standard like 4 tires and wheels?

    Thanks!

Nikon doesn't call it RAW format, it is called a NEF format (Nikon Electronic Format) But it is the same thing...

    From the website:
    File Format
    Compressed 12-bit NEF (RAW)
    JPEG (Baseline Compliant)
    Link-o

I would think that RAW formatting is pretty standard on all DSLR's, all of Nikon's have RAW formatting.
