Photoshop "Selective Color" problems

I am a bit confused right now (nothing new).

Heres my question / problem. If I use selective color on a picture and save it then try to send it in an email the person receiving can not open the picture because they do not have photoshop. Is this correct?

Basically - What am I doing wrong or am I saving it a different format.
Have any of you experienced this?

It sounds to me like you are saving it as a .psd....save it as a JPEG in the Saving options.
