Great illustrated lesson why you don't push a deer too soon--if you had gotten down immediately, how far would he have run?

No telling how far….. I edited out 30 minutes of him laying there till almost dark! I could still hear him breathing heavily despite what I thought was a good shot. Finally I didn’t hear the breathing anymore and waited another 15 minutes, then crept up on him and he was dead.
