Thanks. It's fun when you can just enjoy the hunt and film along the way when you see something that looks interesting.
To your question, I used a combination of cameras.
- Primary cam was the bow mounted Samsung HMX-F90. Here's a view of the mount/cam. https://youtu.be/xTageTr-Chc
- Interview was with the Canon D70.
- POV shots were with the GoPro Hero4 Silver.
- Random shots with an iPhone 5
I had ~6 seconds to grab my bow and shoot. Didn't have enough time to comfortably get the cams rolling.

Even more impressive when you factor in the work you put in just to pack in and to your sets and to retrieve your trophy!
The pacing of the video was outstanding. The story was awesome - visually and audibly. I loved the use of the time-lapses for the climber and the sunrise the morning you shot your buck. One of the best I've seen, self-filmed or otherwise.
Congratulations on the hunt and the video!
Thank you for the thoughtful compliment, Michael. The physical part of hunting Hagerman is difficult to really get across and represent in a short video. All tolled I had a little over 28 miles of hiking and biking between Thursday and Sunday. Challenging but equally rewarding!
God is good.

Great camera angles & techniques.
Good footage coupled with excellent editing.
Keeping the video clips short really holds the viewers’ attention.
Congrats on taking a great buck, and producing an awesome video Micah!

If I was really going for giving the viewer a look into the H hunts I'd have a vibe hour video of me walking....and walking......and walking some more as I walked my fanny off.
It was all worth it though. At the risk of sounding trite, it was as much about the journey as the destination.
