    Hey, look what I made!

You know what they say... necessity is the mother of invention.

I made this out of a piece of aluminum carpet transition strip that I happened to have laying around the shop. A little cutting, bending, drilling and some olive drab spray paint and...

                    I'm glad you asked!

This is a window cut out from my Blind Turtle. But if you imagine that being the bottom edge of the window...

I used to mount the shotgun microphone on top my camera. But it picks up every little extraneous sound from inside the blind. Plus, whenever I pan the camera, it's one more thing up there moving around for deer to see and it also interferes with how far I can pan to the right without the mic hitting against the edge of the window.

Now I'll be able to get the mic outside the blind and still have it close enough to the camera for the cord to reach. I think it will pick up less blind noise and make for better audio quality. I think having the blind behind it may even make it more directional.

If I happen to be hunting away from the Blind Turtle and don't want to mount it on top my camera, I also have the option of clamping it to a branch or something...

Or, with a 6' mini jack extension cord, I can move the mic further from me and closer to the action, even if I am inside the blind.

You could clamp that thing to a feeder leg

Ok... I thought this was going to be a camera mount... I gotcha now!

That was a real good guess. It could actually be used for that if it were a little longer. Or if the camera was something real small like a GoPro, it could be used for that as it is.

I was thinking that the hole and slot would be for attaching to a tree and the camera had a clamp on it and attached to the folded part.
