    Filming hunt with a smartphone...

Who's done it and how did it turn out? I saw a device at academy a couple of days ago that has been stuck in my head. It mounts onto your bow (not sure how) and it holds your iPhone or whatever smartphone you have so you can use it to video while you shoot.
I assume the quality of the video can't be that great with a shot at a deer that's 30 yards out and your 20 feet up a tree so for any of you that's done how did it turn out?

The device you saw mounts to the stabalizer hole on your bow if I am not mistaken.

Never shot a hunting video with my phone but I would imagine just like any other camera that mounts to your bow............ the shot is going to be pretty shaky.

Good point, I don't like watching Blair witch type filming, it makes me nauseous

I've thought a lot about getting one but just dot see how in the world it could be a good video. Like you said, at 20-40 yards you'd barely be able to see the animal little less the shot placement. Plus there's shaking, drawing, the release, etc...
Wish someone would post a vid of it and post it. I hate being the test rat.

I made my own bracket that holds my IPhone case. I will post a video tomorrow.

What they really need to invent is a Steadicam-type device for mounting. Those things shoot AMAZING quality with virtually zero shaking..

Yea but the distance thing I still think would be a problem

Here is a video of a night hunt I did last month. I am still waiting for the daytime video to load on youtube. The daytime footage is much better than this.

Ok now keep in mind that I am not claiming this footage is tv show worthy. I started videoing my own hunts because I was entered in a contest and it had to be caught on video. I know it would be better if it was videoed by a camera man. I edited it down from 8 minutes of footage.
Just so you know this hog was just over 40 yds away when I shot.
