Well, I wasn't going to post this video b/c it was really dark, so the video isn't great. But what the heck, someone may enjoy watching (I know I do).
For those of you that read my other post you'll know that this is my first buck. All night I didn't see a single deer, it was getting pretty dark and I was seriously considering packing it in for the night. Right then I caught a glimpse of a rack in the distant light. I had pictures of bucks coming to my blind on the trail cam, but they were usually coming in the morning, so I really wasn't expecting to see horns. He stood there for a second and then started heading straight towards me. He took his sweet time and it was really starting to get dark, but he finally gave me a 15 yd broadside shot.
Maybe, I shouldn't have taken the shot due to the light. It was also so dark that I had no clue how big he was. The only time I really got a halfway decent look at his rack he was in the fading light about 80 yards away. I hit him about 3 - 4 inches higher than I would like, but he went down.
Overall it was a great experience and a thrill of a lifetime. It makes all the scouting, practice, and waiting pay off. Enjoy...
