Easy video editing for AVCHD in Windows 7 64 bit

Is there any such thing? I mean without spending an arm and a leg?

Windows Live Movie Maker seems very limited and cumbersome. Everything else I've tried either doesn't recognize AVCHD files or isn't compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.

I don't want to make video editing my fulltime job, I just want a simple, user-friendly interface like the old Windows Movie Maker 5.1, but that will work in Windows 7 64 bit and import AVCHD files. Too much to ask? This is wearing me out!

Well, it looks like Pinnacle 14 is going to meet my needs. Now I just need to collect some better footage!

Take a look at the Sony stuff. It gets good reviews!

Do all my editing with Pinnacle but got stuck at v11. I've been happy with it.

Casey is this the one you are talking about. http://www.adorama.com/SOMSPPMS10.ht...utm_term=Other Do you actuall burn anything to disc using this and if so do you do it in HD or what. This is still new to me. With Windows 7 I think I had to convert to wmv from the AVHCHD or whatever it is called.
