This is a story about the one that got away. There really isn't a lot of story involved with this one. I just put my Ipod away and was playing some Yahtzee. Then I hear this *TINK* *TINK* if something hitting the milo feeder. I look up and see this giant gobbler pecking away. I hit the record button. This is the funny part. It was hot so I had my shirt off, my boots off, my socks off and my pants rolled up to my knees. So I figured worse case I would have to run and chase a injured bird, so I threw everything on as quick and quietly as possible. Luckily, he took his time eating and threw a few gobbles while I re-equipped my gear. So we start our hunt with acoupole gobbles and then he steps out. I think he has a double beard, but I have never been that close to a gobbler until this wknd. I pinned him too high and shot clean through his feathers. The arrow was clean and the feathers on the ground were cut. Bummer for missing a very nice bird.
