I can't do video, so here's some "frame by frames" of the impact. You can see the shadow of the shaft. It sank to the fletching and lodged in the opposite shoulder.

He ran to my left, heading back toward the Football Field blind, and disappeared from sight.

I didn't wait very long. Looked like a good shot. However, my other one looked good to me also. I moved this shot up closer to the shoulder. The elbow makes me nervous, but at 18 yards, I knew I could make the shot.

I went to the agarito and didn't see any blood, but looked to my left and saw my arrow. It was broken about 3 inches from the tip. I was sure the broadside was in his opposite shoulder. I also picked up blood. He was heading to the hill. I followed and when he started up the hill, I thought "Not again". I stood and glassed the brush but didn't see him between me and the top. The blood turned pretty quickly to the base of the hill. I glassed and saw him under a tree. He went about 100 yards.

I was thrilled with him. I said I would kill him and I did.

              Congrats!

By far one of the best series of threads in a long time, thanks for taking us along.

Also are they taking applications for next season?

Here are both my deer. The one with the blades is 5/2. They will probably score about the same. Skid Mark had an inch shorter beams. They'd have probably been close to 33 if they didn't have broken tips. The one brow is 10 inches. The other would have been at least that if not broken. Almost 27 outside. Not quite as heavy as 5/2, but not far from it at the measureing points. both of them tickle me to death. I'd have been happy with either. I had a great hunt. I was able to put in about 20 days and that was worth everything, even if I didn't kill. I'll post some thoughts and some things that I think really helped when hunting a strange ranch.
