Well, I ain't too fond of horses either. This is at Mailman's feeder.
Those things are supposed to be gone by now. I may be building some big barbed wire pens if this continues.Comment

Why would you need to raise the Boss Buck to throw corn? Wouldn't a cage protect the feeder mechanism and the coons still can't get to it?
I also have one and have thought about converting over to throw corn.

You wouldn't HAVE to raise it, but it would be pretty low. Most timers are about head high. I guess there's nothing wrong with having it low. A SpinTech timer with the spring slinger would keep deer and cows from bothering it.Comment

I guess a few deer pics are in order. Nothing of consequence. New lease looks promising.
I set up this pole feeder and the deer took to it within a couple days. Also a nice young buck is in the area.
This slick 9 (slick means no brows in our circle) is at my BNL's feeder. He'll make a good starter deer for Jim.

Believe it or not, they aren't pregnant. They are all sows. They've looked like that for a couple years. They are just BIG. If a boar ever comes through, we're in trouble. I hope to kill a couple this spring, but they seem to have moved to Dog's feeder which is their main daytime haunt.Comment

I think my BNL has a coon problem.
I have a cow and horse problem. At least I can KILL the coons. I hate cows.
