Lake Arthur and Cypress Glenn nursing homes in the Beaumont/Port A area were evacuated. The residents were flown to Conroe via helicopters, triaged, then sent to the hospital or other nursing homes. One of the nursing homes I own in San Augustine received 43 evacuees. I cannot not brag about, praise, lift up nor thank enough everyone that helped during this process. At roughly 12 am Thursday morning a coach bus arrived at our front door and we went into action. We had everyone unloaded, bathed, fed, in clean clothes, in a warm comfortable bed and the building cleaned within 4 hrs. The 6a shift was in utter disbelief when they arrived. By 5a no one walking through the door could have imagined the events that just transpired. Since then donations of personal items and labor have not stopped. I'm so grateful for the amazing character of all the folks I've encountered during this event. May God bless each of you!
