There’s lots of “score this buck” threads using a picture of a picture on a computer screen. A lot of guys are going to a dose of ground shrinkage if you go off a pic of a pic.

When their tines are as long and heavy as their legs, you know the pic is skewed a lot!

I literally was showing a guy at the office this little trick on Friday! He was showing me pics that he had sent to him, and was wondering why the deer were so fat and had such big horns. I pulled up a pic of one of our better bucks and made him go from a 140" deer to a 160" deer that weighted 250 lbs in one picture.

Good post. The first pic is the one you use for trolling your hunting buddies. The second is the one to use if you want an accurate age/score opinion from TBH.

Great post! Another good thing to look for is the border around the pic being skewed.

I have a tendency to overestimate Inches based on pictures anyway at a glance, but that picture of a picture can really add some inches.

Game Cam - picture of picture

I’m guilty of it because I’m to lazy to upload pics to something else. I take my cards and upload them to my cannon camera and then take pics of my camera screen.

Took this one this week.




I’m not a professional but I’d guess this deer to be in the 150’s.

Anytime i judge a pic, whether from cam or from pic of pic, i use the ears as my "standard" to look at vs the bone.
