Pretty cool to get to see the big jump. It would be really cool to see his jump next year.

If he has the collar, he was probably bought as a fawn and bottled raised. If he was bought, he probably has better genetics as few pens are stocked with small bucks.
I would go with the dart gun to get the collar off him. He could be a monster in 3 more years.

That would be odd for somebody to pay good money for a deer just to turn it lose. A lot of people in the country keep "pet deer" around that are just wild deer they either raised or tamed and they put collars on them hoping a hunter won't shoot them.
