    1 Year Progression On A Few Of Our Deer

    Thought I would share a few bucks progression from last to this year.....

    First deer up is Pirate...missing one eye so the name fits!



    Last year 5.5



    This year 6.5

    Next up is Ghost



    5.5 here



    6.5

    And finally a young guy... Bug Eyes

    Last year 2.5



    This year 3.5...

      We really don't like to shoot anything at all under 4.5. And then he has to be an obvious cull...we like to let our deer age and give them the benefit of the doubt...

                Nice deer! I love the progression threads. One of my favorite things is checking cams every yr to see how our bucks progressed from the yr before. Pirate got himself some brows somewhere lol!

                    I've always wondered how to identify bucks from year to year that don't have anything unique about them. A buck like Pirate would be easy of course but we have bucks that look very similar to each other. I have a hard time sometimes telling if it's the buck that I think it is from the previous year...?

                      That's what I like best about them. And seeing a young deer at 2.5 looks the same as a young deer pretty much anywhere.

                        Most of our deer are fairly easy to identify...we do have an occasional 3 Yr old that blows up out of nowhere....and leaves us scratching our head..
