    Updated South Texas Pics

Here are a few updated pics. Several of these are still young deer (3-5 yrs old) and some are older. I am obviously pleased with the growth several of these deer have made in the past year. One deer of note is the really wide buck. He is 12 years old this year. I raised him in my breeder pens from a yearling until he was released 4 years ago. He looks fat and healthy.

Lol. That feeder is right outside my old breeder pens and soft release pens. They sure like it around their old home.

Just a question. Most blogs should have a high fence and a low fence section like deer contests(IMO). Would result in less fights on here. We own and we sell hunts off of all three properties and understand the difference. 2 are high fence and one is not. We control things in the high fence. Outside is a different story. my .02 cents. Love it all but really it is different.

Awesome pictures.... are you guys going to shoot the wide buck this year? How old is the buck with the messed up left main beam/base?

I can't bring myself to allow someone to shoot the wide buck. He is like a pet to me. I hand fed him for 7 years in my breeder pens. He will get to live out his life on the ranch. If he gets sick or too weak to survive, I will put him down, and not force him to become a victim of the coyotes.

As for the other buck, I am not sure of his age. His antler config is throwing me off on identifying him. My gut tells me he is 4 or 5. Not sure though.
