Do you think this buck was shot, or got hurt some other way?

I keep looking at this buck. It appears he has a shoulder injury that looks fairly healed up, but it looks like a fresh wound on his back / spine area. Wondering if he got shot and the area on his back just isn't healing up, or if these were two separate injuries. I know nothing is definitive. Just wondering what you would guess caused this:

No way to know, but I'd be inclined to say it looks like he might have gotten hurt going under or through a fence.

Shot high in the shoulder: healed wound, hung it goin under a fence: fresh wound... Just my .02... Either way, he's eatin groceries at yore feeder, so my bet is he's gonna be fine! Have seen some a lot worse "looking" make it, and be healthy. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty
