It’s incredibly green right now out there! The oats and wheat are starting to show seed. The new small tank is filled. Seeing lots of gobblers in these 3 fields every day out there, which is always fun to see. Does anyone have any experience in mowing the wheat/oats down so it’s more tender and make it more attractive to deer? Just curious if anyone had ever done this or not.

Lochow Pond & Lake Management is coming out on April 11th to do an electrofishing survey, test the water, and take a look at the leak in our dam. We are looking forward to seeing what they say and whether they make any recommendations on how we can improve our bass pond further (i.e. water test, aeration, habitat, removing/adding fish, etc.). I'll be sure to keep you posted. Have a great day!

Our biggest issue right now is the leak in the dam. We need to fix this before adding more forage fish.

We are having Lochow Pond Management deliver 75lbs of tilapia on May 30th. We are hoping that these will help keep the algae from growing excessively while providing a lot of additional forage for the bass. I'm also going to be adding another 25lbs of golden shiners in early June. Trying to get some of these 3-4lb bass in the 4 -5lb range by the end of this year.
