We tried our first run of cottonseed this weekend. We bought 3 tons saturday and managed to get it all put out. It was a lot of fun! Can't wait to see how our deer take it.

Going to be tough for the deer to get to the cottonseed with chicken wire around the frames. Good luck. Expect the deer to gain weight but don't expect a lot of antler growth for CS. At least that is what I experience. -

Did yall leave it in those containers with the chicken wire? If so, the deer will only be able to pick around the edges. Better change that system up next time you are out there.

Rowena Pellet Mill also makes a cottonseed meal protein cube. I think it's about 28% protein and is a small 1/4" pellet with a mollases added. Our deer love it too...I usually mix it 50/50 with corn and feed from our regular 12v feeders.Originally posted by ty729 View PostComment
