Does anyone run food plots up there and what do you run in the fall?
We plant around 100 acres in plots each year. For our spring/summer plots (which we plant as 2 25-30 acre destination plots) we plant the MBS spring mix which is milo, and a couple types of cow peas. That's what all the deer are on right now and we will hunt then till around Halloween or the first freeze.
For our fall plots we plant smaller areas around 5 acres and more of them. These will be where we have our corn feeders and camera locations. We plant MBS fall mix and Buck forage oats. Both these do very well in our area. We plant the fall plots right before season when rain is forecasted. The deer really hit these hard in the late season and we usually will knock a big buck down around Christmas over a fall food plot.
MBS is located in Denton and u should be able to get any of these mixes from a farm and feed store.

Thanks for the info. Im going to try the oats this year. I have about an acre clear cut Im going to plant.
Q-all, torch looks as if he's put on some additional tine length since last year. He is a heck of a buck. Doesn't get much better in the Kiamichi mountains.
Do I remember correctly that you had one on camera last year that rivaled him?

Yes I agree. Torch I believe will break into the 160s this year.
We had 2 other nice bucks last year. My dad killed one which I posted earlier in this thread. The other big shooter is Diablo. He hasn't showed back up yet this year. Last year he was flirting with the 160s. Sure hoping he made it through.
Nice pics.
Went to lease yesterday and hung my last stand and cleared up some shooting lanes on all. The work is done and now it is just a waiting game, wont be long. From pics I pulled it seems the deer travel patterns are changing a bit. Have some deer coming in I have not had yet (cams out since early june) and some that were in daily are not coming in as much.
border of atoka and Pittsburg co Magee valley to be exact! pulled these pics sat! Have bunch of pigs around right now kinda has the deer shying from the feeders! Deer are looking healthy plenty of good rain this year!!
