Yes. There is a big black bar hog on our lease that has cutter. And he is very large

I raised European Boars for quite a few years and sold them to game ranches in CA and PA. We castrated quite a few before we shipped them and here is what we found worked the best. Walker is right above in saying that without the fighting, the tusks will get longer because of less breakage, but the main factor is how the top tusk (whetter) aligns over the cutter. We would castrate small boars at 8-12 weeks old and take a pair of pliers and remove both whetters. At that age the tooth is very small and would barely even bleed when pulled out. This would allow the bottom tusk to grow without a sharpening stone above it constantly grinding it down. The bottom tusks will get very large and thick doing this.
