I have planted oak and fruit seedlings over the past few years and noticed a few killed by something that cuts the stem in a perfect circle. it's like the stem was on a lathe and whittled down perfectly at the cut through. This is towards the base of the seedling. Anyone know what critter does this? I didn't take a photo because I thought I had something about it in the past, but I cannot find anything online.
