Expandable Broadheads that won’t deploy while stalking in brush

So I’ve used several different types of expandable heads from grim reaper to swacker, currently using rage trypans but what I’m having an issue with is when I’m walking thru the brush with an arrow nocked and I contact brush I end up opening the Broadhead any one have any input on different heads

You know I’ve had great luck with G5 montecs and I’ve shot the razor tricks the only issue I have is I love hunting hogs and the lack of blood trails compared to expandables is very noticeable

Have you thought about using a hybrid like the one from Grim Reaper?

It’s funny you said that after writing up this post it got me thinking so I started looking thru all my old Broadheads and found two my buddy had given me to try and I have to say they do fly well I imagine they will leave a great blood trail

NAP Spitfire series. I shoot the Maxx, but they all have a spring metal insert that makes inadvertent deployment difficult. They do t have o-rings. If you deploy one accidentally, you can just close it and keep going.

It’s the very reason I didn’t like Rage’s collars. I’m considering their Hypodermic NC, but I would prefer a Trypan NC if they made that.

try all broadheads. Most you can find used or borrow, etc. Find what works for you. You may find that expandable is not what you really want at all. Good luck.

If it has a moving part it....well moves. Lol On many broadheads you can put a small rubber band around them that will easily pop off or break if you have a problem with them deploying while moving through brush or grass.

Put a hose clamp around it. At a 45 degree angle from center. You'll regret it but it won't open in brush.

Hope someone has a solid answer.
