    Arrows for Elite GTO

I have an elite GTO that I bought from another member. I put 30" mods on it so I had to buy longer arrows than he sent with it. I believe it is set at 70 lbs.

I went to academy and picked up some 31" piledriver 350's just so I could start shooting. I now can't get the broadheads and field points hitting the same. Broadheads are hitting left in awesome groups, but about 3" left.

I moved the rest to the right slightly about 4 times and it didn't get any better. Rest was so far right I could tell it was way off center. Am I just shooting cheap arrows and that is the problem? Can someone suggest the arrows that I need? Is there a cheap or easy to use scale to double check draw weight?

I am just assuming that by having 60-70 lb limbs that it would be at 70. After moving the rest twice, I also cranked the poundage down about 3/4 turn to try to bring the broadheads to the right a bit but that didn't help either. Thinking I just need different arrows.....

Almost always if shooting above 65 lbs and 29 in or longer needs a 300 spine arrow. As long as your shooting 100 to 125 gn tips anything above that you need to look at 250 spine

Should have included that I am shooting a 125 broadhead.

Thanks for the help guys. Gonna stop at academy on the way home and see what I can find.

Not trying to be rude. You need to stop going to academy for arrows.

I have mine set at 27.5" at 70lbs shooting the Beman Pork Chop 340s and Easton Aftermath 340 with a 100 grain exodus or 100 grain Slick Trick and mine does something similar.

At twenty yards it shoots 1-2 inches left and down then at 30 yards its 3-5 inches left and down..

I haven't adjusted my rest yet as I'm no pro at adjusting bows and don't want to screw something up

I buy what I can afford at the time. LOL Gonna get some at academy today or tomorrow simply due to time constraint and trying to hunt this weekend. If nothing else I will just sight in for my broadheads and take care of the arrows later.

I have one more question. This is probably out of ignorance but you never learn unless you ask I guess.

The Pile Driver Pass Thru Extreme is a .330 spine, if I am looking at the website correctly. My broadheads are grouping to the left, which according to the Easton tuning guide is a stiff arrow? Wouldn't going to a 300 be an even stiffer arrow?

I know I am probably missing some component of the equation here. Can someone please explain? I am not questioning what y'all are saying as the charts I looked at last night say the same thing, I am just trying to understand what I obviously don't.

I'll get with you soon. I am just wanting to pick up 3-4 for the time being to get me by. We just sold the house and trying to move, paying for stoarage, and all cost associated with kinda have me broke right now.

I agree with muddy and Newman. Arrow selection plays, quite possibly, the most important role in tuning. I have had to really busy my hump to get my arrows to tune when I went the cheaper route. I don't shoot high end arrows right now (beman patriots), but they have much better carbon than the extremely cheap arrows. I have had a much easier time tuning these out, and I can't wait to get some black eagle carnivores to build and tune out. Should be fun

Then Easton tuning guide has a lot of good info, but it was written for recurve and finger shooters and modified for release and compound bows. So what I'm trying to say. It's wrong. First you can never be to stiff with a arrow being shot from a compound bow with a release. Your bow is not in tune.
