The energy produced by the limbs and cams goes into 3 things basically. First and foremost is the energy absorbed by the arrow which hopefully the majority of the energy produced. the remaining energy goes into either noise or bow vibration. A heavier arrow, to a point, will absord more energy thatn a lighter arrow and thus you will have less noise and bow/hand vibration. My 560 grain arrows make my bow way quieter, but it is amazing the noise difference level between them and my 700+ grain arrows.
