    New bow hunter broadhead help

I am new to bowhunting and could use some help selecting a broadhead.

I am shooting a Hoyt Charger set at 60 with 340 gn Beman Porkchops.

I will mostly be shooting deer and a few pigs, but I also have a ram hunt coming up in July.

I looked at the Muzzy MX-3 and the Slicktrick Magnum as well.

I would like to stay away from mechanical broadheads if possible

Muzzy's have worked fine for me from squirrel to elk.

Slick tricks, but if you like the muzzys, they're essentually the same thing.

I'm not sure what your question is about the two different broadheads; is there something specific you are wondering about?

I agree they are very similar; but I would give the edge to Muzzy due to the true trocar tip. This is the tip design that redefined archery warfare because it flew better, was stronger and could penetrate armor.

Fortunately, we aren't shooting through armor, but the trocar tip performs equally well on bone and the Muzzy are stupid easy to tune; they fly like darts.

Try the Ramcat 100's or 125's, your choice. They are sharp, fly like darts and will put animals down. Need proof? I can give you many pics of animals taken with this head here and in Africa.
Best animal I know of taken by someone else is a person from Kansas that took a big Eland Bull in Africa with a 60# Mathews and a Ramcat 100 with a full passthru. That is quiet a accomplishment considering a big Eland bull can weigh 1880 to 2000 pounds.

Slick trick magnum, nap thunderheads, muzzy, qad exodus, ramcats or magnus broadheads.

Both of your choices will work fine but I'm with MS, he turned me on to the Ramcats 3 years ago and I don't even look at other BH's now.

They shoot great and kill even better.

broad heads can be very confusing. they all work, as long as they are shape and you shoot the from a well tuned bow.
you being a newbe.. pm me your address I will send you a free package of
Slick Trick 100g. magnums. try them on some pigs before that ram hunt and see what you think.
you can not go wrong with them.

I've had good luck with muzzy's. Been wanting to try viper tricks and ramcats...

I would shoot the slick trick magnums. You arrow seems like it's heavy in the spine department. I would consider 125's just to see how they fly. Good luck!

Thanks all for the replies, I am so new to this trying to decipher what is signal and what is static can be confusing.

One thought I had was, does it matter if its a 4 blade or 3 blade on how it effects flight of the arrow? Or am I worrying about nothing.
