tech tip of the week #1

    (this tip is about stance)
if you are a right hand shooter then your left leg should be a about 90 degree 's to 45 degree 's towards the target but you're RIGHT leg should never be pointed away from your target it should be straight . and you're legs should be aligned with your shoulders. now if you are a left handed shooter then do the same thing only it will be your right leg

I'm sorry but you may have to draw me a picture of that stance

It ain't the same for everyone. Good basics to start with but everyone is different and need to find the stance that works for them. I would rather be rock solid on my "form/stance" from the waist up than Below my waist. Why? I shoot a heck of a lot sitting on my butt in a chair in a blind.

Haha. That is why I think it's funny when people say you need good form. Well I bet mines not when setting in a blind.

I bet a fella looks goofy shooting with his toes pointed at the target

it is called a open stance look it up. and if you are in a cheer it is different leg faceing the target should be 90 degrees open

I am going to agree to disagree on your tip of how to sit in a chair to shoot. You need to draw some pics to show some of us how this and the other stance you stated works. Not sure i follow you.
I can tell you this, i never have a leg facing the target when i am sitting in a chair and i seem to get fairly decent results after doing this for over 40 years!

I was just gonna ask for pics, I'm trying to see what you're saying I just can't grasp having my right leg facing the target

You do mean leg facing the target as in toes toward target, correct?

I've been told my firm needs tweaking.
I concur. Before being told that I could stack 6 arrows touching at 20 & 30 yards.
                      Now I can't.....

According to this you only need to use the open stance if you have bow string clearance issues

the open stance helps with a clean shot and no string contact to the arm or body

are body is just a platform for the bow to fire'er off of even if you have no clearance problem
