    New arrow setup - Elk

I posted about my elk plans and needing a better arrow. I was going to get new bow as well, not because of the hunt but I shot one when I went to look at higher weight arrows. Anyway, here is the setup I went with.

Gold Tip Kinetic XT 300's. Cut 29", 4 fletched with green and white vanes, DRT 125 grain single bevel broad head. Finished weight is 489.5 grains. Shooting them at 290fps .6291 momentum and 91.226 #'s of KE. Don't have a way to calculate fox but they are very noticeably front heavy. Bow didn't even need to be tuned, shot them perfect at 15 and 25 yards.

Sounds great to me.. I like it anywhere from 425-500 for anything under dangerous game.

14.5% foc is what I'm getting. If they weren't 4 fletched I'm sure it would be higher

Nothing wrong with that at all.

Why did you fletch with 4 vanes.

                That's one mean looking setup.

Should do some damage this fall.

More fletching surface the better they steer the broached. I've just always had better luck getting a big 2 blade BH's to fly better with 4 fletchings vs 3.

Off topic a bit, but what bow are you shooting this out of. Poundage and draw length?

I'm just curious what is producing that speed.
