I need help with arrow selection

Ok,

I am new to bow hunting and would like "opinions" on what type of arrow the GS believes I should shoot with my set up.

I shoot a Bowtech Assassin at 65 lb and 29.5 in draw, currently using a 100 gr. slick trick magnum BH.

Come on GS I want to hear your thoughts.

You are at least a .340 spine. I like Easton Axis but there a lot of great arrows out there.

Bump up to a 125gr head, or add 25gr in insert weights, a .300 spine and you will have a hard hitting setup for any North American game.

Lots of information.

I'm shooting 300 spine Gold Tips with 50 grains screw in weight behind the insert, standard insert with 125 grain head.
They're 29 1/8" long.
They weigh 487 grains.
FOC is 16%
Haven't shot anything with them yet

Muddyfuzzy is a fellow TBH member. He builds arrows.

He's going to build me some Black Eagle X-Impacts.
They'll be in the 420 grain range and 16% FOC range as well

What if he does not want to go that heavy? He may want speed although every suggestion made is what I would do personally, and maybe a little heavier.

You are shooting almost the same set up as me. I'm got hooked on the ACComplice arrows. They have been awesome in their performance. More accurate, they fly incredible well even in the wind and my BH's hit where my field tips hit out to 50yrds so far.

that bow will run a 350/340 no problems with a standard insert/100 grain tip
something like a BE carnivore 350 would end up 360ish = speedburner

this is a great option, the perfect example of T.A.P. or Total Arrow Performance. A moderate weight arrow that shoots flat with high FOC, well you guys know how I feel about that.

You need to do a little looking. Make a Decision. Do you want light and fast or a shoulder breaker. When I build arrows for me. I build for T.A.P ( total arrow performance). I build for a bad shot. A light fast arrow will kill anything you want to hunt in this part of the country. Unless you hit shoulder. Then you need some weight.

Black eagle arrows are a good arrow. And you can build from light to heavy.

If your a reader and like to learn as much as you can about this look up dr ashby. Lot of koolaid ashby drinkers on this sight. Me included. So doint get hung up on it. Just lots of good info
