Question. Why in the cornbread hell are YALL still paper tuning???? It been proven and reprove that it's flawed by many many pros now. I quit many years ago and went to walk back tuning.

          Link, oh wise one.

Disclaimer: I might not be getting your sarcasm, but every tuner in every bow shop I've ever been to and every manufacturer of every category of archery equipment discusses paper tuning... as a quick step to rough adjustment. Walk back tuning is fine, but paper is not "flawed."

          TIA

Paper tuning to me is like bore sighting a rifle. It's a good start and is easy to do when you have limited space. Once paper tuned, I walk back tune for final adjustments. Sometimes I have to make changes and sometimes I dont. It's definitely not flawed just shouldn't be your only or final tuning.

Ok if you wanna think that. More and more are getting away from it. And yes it has a couple flaws. But see Mr Smarty Pants. I don't read this stuff on the Internet. I've been in archery for 30 years come this may. Shot Pro for 11. I know quite a few people in the industry. Bow manufacturers and especially folks at broadhead companies. I just get people like you have to pop off when somebody shares some "wisdom" as you call it. But yessir it's been backed up by folks much better than me. And there was a pile of sarcasm in my first post as me and Clay are friends.

Rough adjustment I can go along with if you wanna do it that's fine in my book. But if it's not flawed at all, why is it not the end of tuning like it used to be???? Answer, it's been proven not to be the final step. That's why like you said it's called "rough" adjustment because it won't get you to the final part of your tune. But if you wanna call it unflawed that your Buizz not mine.

I can go with you on that. But I'll still call it flawed. You can still get bullet holes and be getting poor arrow flight and still be contacting fletching. But if you walk back tune after and check fletching clearance you'll find it there. So yes agreed defiantly should no be used as a final tuning step. So almost every bow manurfactors and pros will tell you now days.

30 years dang ragin. Move into this time fram. Paper tuning is on the comeback. You old people just have a hard time with changes. And I don't care if you know some one. Duh so do I

Ok I can't come up with any sarcasm. Dang off my game tonight. Hehe.

Now on an straight talk. Paper tuning is a very good source to see what is going on. Where it's flawed is when you have a horzonal tear and it tells you move rest till arrow is bullet hole. What? It should say if you move your rest more then 2/32 from center shot. You have a problem. Stop and figure it out. Stop moving your rest.
