Dry fire

ive had it happen twice, my martin came apart My matthews survived. i have a new rule i let no one even pick up my bow, no one draws it i wont even draw another persons bow. ill et a person look and admire but when it comes to touching it not a chance. ive had people get upset but its my bow. i keep a couple cheap bows around if someone wants to shoot it or hold it but not my main bow

I mistakenly dry fired a bow at Bass Pro Shops once. I'd like to say the release was at fault, it intentionally did not have a trigger so it would not dry fire. But THWANNGGGGGGG! The guy freaked out and I felt like a dope. Nothing happened to the bow though.

I'm new to the world of bows and just bought one yesterday. Dry fired it showing it off to my father in law.....sometimes you have to learn the hard way.

Make sure someone looks at it real close. ..could have a hairline. ..if not, it will be okay. Wouldn't recommend two dry fires though. Hope it is okay and way to keep your cool.

It is ok. I have never seen a bow dry fire and not be ok

I've seen bent cams, splintered limbs, Broke string & or cables, sometimes all at once on dry fired bows. Not saying it will happen but just saying it can happen.I have seen it blow bearing out on cams or idler wheels on solo cams also.

I have a friend that dry fired his Heli-m. Lost a limb, axle, cam, and string. Not a pretty sight. Glad you had minimal damage.

Dry fired my Hoyt Charger twice. Took it to the shop and had them check it and reinsert my peep both times and no damage that they can see. You should probably be okay. The really embarrassing part is that I thought I had an arrow nocked both times. Aimed at my target and pulled the release lol. The first time I spent about 15 seconds looking for my arrow. The second time I was familiar with the sound it makes, sickening.

It should be fine! Don't you know they dry fire every bow before they leave the factory??

A buddy dry fired my old Dream Season several years ago...I wasn't quite so lucky. Make sure you reeeeally check those limbs good.

Had a buddy of mine dry fire mine when I first got it. I got PI SSED, told him if it was messed up, he was buying me a new one.... It was fine.

Worst thing you could have done was to shoot it after he dry fired it. Very dangerous!!

My dad did the same thing with my mathews Monster 6. Peep flew off and string came off the cams, had it checked out and decided to replace the string but everything was good. I have shot and killed many animals since and no issues.

I accidentally dry fired my brand new bear authority but was not in any trouble. I wouldn't do anything else until you get it looked at
