    Need some help

I just got my first bow. A buddy of mine gave me his Mathews Legacy with a few extras and I want to get it ready to hunt. (He shot the bow like 10 times the 5 years he had it and it fits my draw length perfectly) Bowstrings look fine but the serving string where the arrow was normally nocked and the arrow release was used is pretty rough. This bow did not have a d loop. I am wanting to add a d loop myself and re-serve this part of the bow but I have no idea what size serving string I need. Can I just use some of my Dacron B-50 I use for my recurve bows? Or is there a specific size for this bowstring? Zebra strings is what I am using.

Sorry if I sound ignorant. I'm just now learning about compounds. I'm also an avid DIYer. If I can do it myself and learn to do it myself I would rather do that then have someone do it for me.

I would not use D 50. You should be able to order some from just about anywhere. Email a string builder and ask what size serving they would reccomend for a legacy string set.

i would just get a new string set for it. 5 years of sitting and not stretching could affect the strings life. and new strings come with new serving where you nock an arrow
