How to Measure String & Cable Lengths???

    Texas Bowhunter Fam,

My bow is a Mathews Z7 Magnum and I need to change the strings. I have 2 questions.

    (1) Is there a way to determine the string and cable lengths I need to order based on my 28" draw length, rather than taking the strings off to measure before I get the new ones?

    (2) I am thinking of ordering custom Winners Choice Strings. Does anybody have any advice on these strings or a better string builder?

    Thanks in advance,

    BA

There are stock string lengths listed on the bow or on the website. Use those. Your stock strings have surely stretched so I would not measure them and use those lengths. I have a string stretcher that allows me to take a string/cable to 100#s of tension on 1/4" posts, but I would never measure an old harness to do that. Plus any good builder is going to know the lengths.

WCs are customs, but not hand built customs like you would get from Wes @ Stage 1, Tom Parkinson (Park N Sons Strings), TAZ, Crackers, to name a few. Very very different thing.

If you are going to do the work yourself, PM me and I can point you in the right direction. If going to a shop, they might have a preferred builder.

Anybody know where to find the serial number. There is a number stamped at the bottom of the grip, but when I typed it in to Mathews to register my bow it said it was invalid.

That is the serial number. You would of had to register it with the dealer you bought it from.
