    Tuning problem update

I posted a couple of weeks ago, couldn't get field points and broad heads to impact the same. Messed with yoke tuning, poundage, nock point, rest, etc...
Long story short I got it close but I wasn't quite happy so today I was at the bow shop to buy my son a Diamond Atomic for his first bow. Grabbed some 340 shaft Gold Tip velocities. Came home started shooting them with field points, Slick trick Grizz tricks, and DRT single bevel broad heads. All 3 impacting dead on with each other from 15-35 yards. Will stretch out further when I have a place to do that.

Hoyt Vector Turbo 29" 68# shooting a 385 grain arrow at 314 fps.
Very happy with it now, On a side note I've got 10 gold tip 55-75's cut 30" nock throat to insert tip. lol

It seems to me you were under spined to start with. The 340's or even 300 spine sounds much better suited to your 68# 29" and blazing speed of 314. I shoot a Helim @ 63# with 27.5"DL and either shaft works for me with just a slight bit of difference between the two shaft spines with slick trick 100 Grizz Trick 2.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. lol. I was being stubborn, I got it grouping pretty good but not as good as they should have been. Honestly it's probably for the better. I got the bow so well tuned that when it got the right shaft it literally shaved the vanes off of the first arrow when I shot the same dot 2 times.

Glad you got it lined out. You going to cut those 55/75 down some to stiffen them up? I bet if you cut about 1.25 off they will shoot like a charm! If you can of course.

I'm betting not. Using a vector turbo at 29 in draw at 68 lb. with an 100 gn tip a 400 spine would have to be around 22 in long. Don't think he can cut off that much.

This is just doing it by ontarget program. With just his posted numbers. Rough inputs.

At his draw to get a correct spine using 400 spine arrows he would have to shoot it at 50 lbs

Most bows at 330 ibo. At 29 in. Draw shooting a 100 gn tip. At a 340 spine arrow
Still requires the bow to be around 63 lb of draw weight

Just playing with a carbon knight on program. At 70 lb 28 in draw 100 gn tip arrow has to be 26.25 long for a 340 spine. A arrow at 28 requires a .3198 spine

I can't cut them down any more. I don't like shooting any shorter than the end of the riser.
I'm just gonna sell the 55-75's. I'm sure there are people who will take them.

Are those programs free? Never looked into them. I know it still says I'm a hare underspined but they are grouping perfect so I'm going to leave it alone. I'd like to have a program like that for future reference.

The pinwheel ontarget gives you a 10 day free try. After that's it 20 for one year. Even with the way I'm tuning a bow I still use the program. One thing with all the testing I'm doing now is once I reach a certain yardage I have a weak arrow shooting good. I don't see it being weak till I back up another 5 yards.

Hope that made sense. Good hunting
