    Random Misses

In the last week of shooting, I had a shot miss center by about 18" +. I usually shoot 30 yards, so I marked it up to human error. Until it started happening more. I had a shot hit low at 30 yards today. Moved in to 20 yards, 2 shots dead center, 3rd about 12" high. I use a QAD HDX rest. Any tips would be appreciated. If you need more info, just ask. It may be unrelated, but my bow seems easier to draw lately.

Arrows all fletched the same / same fletch location when shooting (nock position)?

Have you numbered your arrows to see if it is the same one that keeps missing the mark?

Mark the arrow to see if it is the same one missing. Also check the vanes for contact with the cables or rest.

            It's a PSE Omen Max.
All the arrows are from the same batch. They are getting old though.

Couldn't number because the misses hit the tree behind the target, so I lost the arrows.

The top vane on all the arrows have black marks.

Is the bar to hold the arrow from falling out of the rest tight? Mine came loose and was hitting the fletchings.

                  Ya, it's tight.
Looks like my nock point on my string needs to be redone. The string wrap has come off. Could that explain the misses? They are always high or low but never left or right.

Black marks on all your arrows means they are hitting the rest. It could be a timing issue with the rest not falling right. And the string wrap is called center serving. Yes it will affect accuracy.

Check all your fletchings. I had the same thing happening to me the other day and one of my fletchings was coming unglued about 1/3 of the way

sounds like rest contact. my wifes bow had the same problem and we realized the top bar was a little loose.

Rest contact, no doubt, I had a QAD rest that after it got older, I think the spring was wearing out or something. After doing some research it looks like QAD's don't clear that fast when they are new so after some time they can fail to clear in time.
