Tip for Browning Trail Cam Owners Using Time Lapse

I love these little Browning Strike Force cameras. Link for best price: http://www.trailcampro.com/brownings...rcereview.aspx

Anyway, I learned something today that I wish was in the gol dang manual. If you use the Timelapse feature, you get this weird TLS file that can only be opened using Browning's software. It's PC only, so I was SOL with my Mac.

Well today I learned you can just change the file name to .avi instead of .tls, and the time-lapse file instantly becomes a video that you can play on just about anything. You literally just click "Rename," then change TIMEL0001.TLS to TIMEL0001.AVI and you're done.

Hope that helps someone. It's such a simple fix that I never thought to try it. Stupid caveman.

What is the point of the time lapse feature? I have it on all my cams but have never had a use for it.

It catches the animals that never get close enough to trigger the camera.

For example, I sent mine to take a pic of a big field once per minute. Even at a full sprint, an animal that enters the field is going to get captured on the time lapse.

It's great for tracking game movement and gauging activity hours.
