Would like to buy a GPS for mapping my lease. I've been researching on line but it all seems confusing with all the different models ( garmin ). And I don't want to throw down two or three hundred dollars for something I may not use except for a little while. Any input is appreciated.

What exactly are you wanting to do with it? For "mapping" its hard to beat google earth. And it is free. You could use an app on your phone to get coordinates from property corners and then lay them out on a google map. You could even print the map and draw lines by hand. Most properties have fairly well defined borders on aerial maps.

I just got a garmin 450t. It will do it all and with Birdseye imagery it's like google earth with service anywhere. I use it to scout in the field and pinpoint points of interest and plan a route to it. The places I hunt are all river bottoms one is 5000+ acres one is 37000+ and one is 160000+ none have cell service at all. Of you want to ever find your stand again a handheld is a must, and with the topo feature I never walk a useless route only to hit water I can't cross
