DIY string and cable replacement help needed

I have decided that when it comes time to replace my strings and cables on my mathews chill I would buy an ez green press and start doing it myself. I get tired of paying someone to do it for me when I know I can learn how to do it myself. The only thing is that I have never done this, and wouldn't know where to start. I do know that the mathews chill series has those dang metal loops, which seems daunting when it comes to changing cables. I've also never timed a bow using cables, which seems pretty complicated.

My question is, do any of you guys that do it yourself have any papers or websites you use to tune bows after installing strings? Also, does anybody know how to install cables on a chill since they have those metal loops?

Search Nuts and Bolts of Archery PDF. It has what your looking for as far as timing and tuning.

nuts and bolts, you will also find useful information on the Mathews forum. you are a bright guy, you can handle it. set starting rotation, sync, and tune to peak weight, let-off and draw length.

I bought an e-z-green a couple of years ago and haven't looked back, in time you will feel the same way. shoot me a pm if you need any help, be glad to do what I can.

I spent the better part of last night reading nuts and bolts and finding all the literature I could on how to change out cables. I think I'll be able to do it without much of a fuss. And God bless mathews for making those synchronization holes in the cams!
