    adding weight

so. right now im shooting GT velocity hunter arrows. total weight is 352 grains with 100 grain BH. I need new arrows anyway, and I would like to add some weight to improve penetration and quiet my bow down some. I don't want to add too much though, because im hoping to turn my bow up a few pounds and not lose any speed after the change. so im thinking maybe 50 to 70 grains.
is that enough weight that I will notice a difference? should I buy a heavier arrow, or just buy the same brand and add some weight to them?

You need to move more than that to make any real world difference. Are you set on a 100 grain head???

To really quiet it down and really get some penetration difference in the real world bump up to 450 plus.

If you turn your bow up to make up or the speed loss, you may negate the difference a heavier arrow makes. I am a speed freak, but I really had to make sure I didn't sacrifice stealth for speed. Deer are really fast, and a quiet bow at 295 fps is more effective than a loud bow at 315

If the spine can handle it add more weight at the tip

Right now I have a 300 spine velocity goldtip that weights 657 gn 400 of that is tip weight
From the research ive done and that's reading only. More weight does help, but if you can do it on the tip and increase the foc. That's better then just adding weight by a heavier arrow. Don't know if 50 to 70 gn added is going to make that much, but every little bit helps.

front & while you're starting from scratch lighten up the rear as much as possible.

so I should just use the same arrow and add an insert to the front? maybe ill shoot 125 grain head too. I know its not gonna make that much difference, but like enewman said, every little bit helps.

Gold Tip has screwin weights that go behind the insert in 10, 20, and 50gr increments. They can be stacked. They also have a long hexhead that allows you to go through the nock end.
You have to be careful not to make the arrow too weak. This will work if you have an arrow long enough to cut some off in order to keep the arrow in spine.
