    Time to go shopping

I'm in the market to replace my bow. I'm waiting on a friend to come up with the rest of the cash for my old bow, which I know isn't guaranteed, but I need to be ready to pull the trigger should he actually come through. I will looking at Mathews as they have been my bow of choice since 2004 but plan to shoot some Hoyt and PSE bows as well. I would like to try out the new Darton line but need to locate a local dealer. What other brands have the quality, reliability and shootability of the top three manufacturers and are as quiet and smooth? For me a hunting bow has to be relatively quiet and smooth to draw. I'm all for buying the best I can afford but if I can find a bow that flies under the radar I will give it a try.

I keep hearing a lot of good things about Elite but have no experience with them myself.

    Happy shopping!

I own Mathews,..if i had to choose another, it would be an Elite, then a Carbon element--in that order.

I've shot a lot of great bows this year but one of the best; if not the best, is the chill r. the elite energy's are absolutely fabulous as well. hoyt is solid this year again as usual.

you have a tough decision ahead of you my man.

I bought an elite hunter after trying just about every bow of comparable price in the store. I was looking for the best shootability over speed. I loved the deep valley of the elite. It felt like I could hold full draw exponentially longer than the others. Prime was a close second though.

This is one of the problems with some of the new Mathews bows. Short valley can cause you to rebound when you hit the wall on the draw.

I had never shot a Mathews until that day and I was a little disappointed. Not that they were bad bows by any stretch, but I have just heard so much hype over the years I figured I would end up getting one. Granted I only shot the creed and the heliM.

I love my mathews chill, and te chill R is even sweeter. But, I have shot the new Hoyt's and bowtechs, and both are great. To me it's really hard to choose the "best" bow, just go gran a bunch to test and buy the one that fits you

The HeliM is one of the worst on short valley syndrome. I really liked my LX and my Z7E is a great bow but I need to step down in draw weight. I'm confident I will find a suitable replacement. I appreciate all the suggestions.

I recently picked up a Strother Sx Rush for a very good price. Fairly impressed with the bow, enjoy it more than my Invasion I think. I would check them out, as well as Elite. Athens are great bows as well, if you can find a dealer.
